What are Internal Arts?
Internal Arts are techniques or exercises that focus on building internal energy (qi) to boost health, well being and longevity.
Commonly referred to as Tai Chi or Qi Gong, these exercises fall under a larger branch known as Nei Gong (internal arts) and can be all be considered Chinese Exercise Therapy. The term ‘therapy’ is used in this instance because it is an integral part of healing and maintaining good health in Chinese Medicine.
Though there is a tendency to separate Internal Arts from hard styles of Martial Arts in modern times, these two used to be inseparable. In fact almost every Martial Art style has their own form of internal training usually manifesting as breath work.
Is it suitable for me?
Yes, Chinese Exercise Therapy is suitable for everyone. There is no age limit or experience required. Research has shown that the practice of Chinese Exercise Therapy can reduce pain, improve balance, assist with psychoemotional disorders such as stress, anxiety and depression and even improve cardiovascular health.
If you are a student of Xing Lin Quan the aspect of Internal Arts is automatically applied and will be revealed in more depth later in the training.
